One decay that many people don't know about is distance decay. Distance decay is a geographical term which describes the effect of distance on cultural or spatial interactions. Distance decay is graphically represented by a curving line that swoops concavely downward as distance along the x-axis increases. Distance decay effects states that have interaction between two places decreases as the distance between them increases. An example of distance decay is the greater distance from a residence to a grocery store the average amount of people shopping there declines.
